I rely on both IDEs because each has its own strengths:
- VS Code + Cline: Ideal for a lightweight, modern interface and AI-powered code generation.
- GoLand/PyCharm: When working on Go or Python, their built-in debugging, refactoring, and code analysis tools are unmatched.
Using both allows me to:
- Generate code with AI in VS Code + Cline. The plugged MCPs are:
- Figma MCP
- GitHub MCP (personally-tuned for parallel works)
- Atlassian MCP
- Switch to GoLand or PyCharm for deep debugging or large-scale refactoring.
As a big fan of JetBrains, I’d love to see them strengthen their AI offerings—so that, like VS Code, you get powerful AI features immediately with a quick setup.
